Job Title: Laboratory Technologist Assistant
Job Location: Salinas, CA
Job Duration: 4+ months with possible extension
Pay Range: $28 - $30/hr. on w2 contract
Position Summary:
Work under the supervision of the Lead Technologist Assistant. Under general supervision, contributes to the quality of patient diagnosis and treatment by timely and accurate collection and processing of physician-ordered tests. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collects specimens in appropriate containers, ensuring proper centrifugation and storage per laboratory procedures to maintain sample integrity.
• Performs venipuncture and capillary collections with minimal discomfort, bruising, trauma, or need for redraw.
• Complies consistently with laboratory and hospital policies and procedures, including:
Required Skills and Experience:
• Minimum two years of experience in an acute care setting as a phlebotomist preferred.
• Experience working with children and infants is required.
• Epic experience required: Minimum of 6–12 months within the past year.
• No RTO preferred during 9/15 – 11/26; all requests will be reviewed.

• Performs venipuncture and capillary collections with minimal discomfort, bruising, trauma, or need for redraw.
• Complies consistently with laboratory and hospital policies and procedures, including:
- Proper disposal of contaminated needles and supplies.
- Decontamination of work areas.
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, gowns, glasses, and protective shields.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Minimum two years of experience in an acute care setting as a phlebotomist preferred.
• Experience working with children and infants is required.
• Epic experience required: Minimum of 6–12 months within the past year.
• No RTO preferred during 9/15 – 11/26; all requests will be reviewed.
