Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer
Job Location: Fairfield, CA
Job Duration: 3 Months+ Contract
Shift: 8.30 AM - 4.30 PM (Lunch 12.30 pm - 1.30 pm) – 35hrs weekly
Pay Range - $2205+/Weekly on W2
Duties and Responsibilities:

Pay Range - $2205+/Weekly on W2
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform and document cardiology service modalities, including ECG, echocardiograms, stress echoes, ECG stress tests, and vascular studies, ensuring adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
- Instruct and assist patients in preparation for testing and procedures, maintaining patient privacy at all times.
- Monitor patients during testing/procedures, recognize dysrhythmias and echo pathologies, and notify physicians immediately if needed.
- Evaluate each study to ensure it meets required quality standards and prepare reports for physicians.
- Apply and discontinue Holter monitors, upload data, and maintain equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Report equipment failures, tag equipment, and notify BioMed and department leadership.
- Inspect and clean equipment before each patient use.
- Utilize electronic health records (e.g., CPACS, Cerner) for message-taking, data input, and documentation.
- Develop health education materials for ultrasound, stress tests, echoes, and other procedures.
- Coordinate scheduling of diagnostic studies and communicate with treating physicians for health updates or specific information.
- Follow infection control guidelines and utilize informed consent for treatments/procedures.
- Integrate evidence-based practices to guide policies, procedures, and standards for ultrasound modalities.
- Stay current in medical diagnostic sonography through continuing education and share knowledge with the cardiology team.
- Ensure prior authorization is obtained for ultrasounds, stress tests, echoes, and other procedures.
- Participate in policy development, review, and revision specific to ultrasound services.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain a professional demeanor in appearance and attitude.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by CCI.
- Cardiology experience in inpatient or outpatient settings.
- Current AHA or equivalent BLS certification.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in ultrasound and cardiology.
- Experience providing care for Young Adult, Adult, and Geriatric patient populations.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, office equipment, and basic computer skills (fax, multi-line phone, copier/scanner).
- Familiarity with Cerner and electronic health records (EHR).
- Strong understanding of regulatory and professional standards in cardiology and ultrasound.
