Phlebotomist Floater
Job Title: Phlebotomist III – Float
Location: North Arlington, NJ
Duration: 3+ Months
Shift: Day Shift
Pay Range: $19.80 - $21.80 per hour (W2)
Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist III – Float is responsible for collecting high-quality blood samples from patients and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis. This position involves working in multiple locations, including patient service centers, in-office settings, mobile units, and long-term care facilities. The role requires excellent technical skills, strong communication, and the ability to support a variety of healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine and advanced blood collection procedures, including pediatric and geriatric draws

Provide coverage at various locations as needed, ensuring continuity of service

Create a welcoming and professional environment for patients

Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all privacy guidelines
-
Support onboarding and training of new team members
-
Act as a point of contact for staff at assigned sites

Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies

Assist with inventory rotation, restocking, and cycle counts
-
Manage prepacking and breaking down bulk items as needed
Requirements:
-
Strong phlebotomy skills, including venipuncture and capillary collection
-
Experience working in fast-paced, high-volume environments
-
Ability to travel to multiple locations, sometimes on short notice
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
-
Willingness to serve as a team lead or on-site support
-
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record (if applicable)

Adherence to all safety and operational policies
Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
-
Phlebotomy certification preferred (mandatory in certain states such as CA, NV, and WA)
Experience:
-
At least 5 years of phlebotomy experience required
-
Minimum of 3 years in a patient service center or in-office setting preferred
-
Customer service experience in healthcare or retail environments is a plus
-
Proficient in data entry and basic computer use
