Job Description: Phlebotomist I
Location: Miramar, FL
Duration: 5+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift:
- Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Every Saturday (until converted to Quest employee): 6:30 AM – 11:00 AM
Position Overview
The Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) serves as the frontline representative of the organization, delivering exceptional patient care and providing accurate, safe, and efficient blood specimen collection. This role requires strong technical skills, professionalism, and the ability to create a welcoming and trustworthy environment for patients of all ages. The Phlebotomist I ensures all procedures follow established guidelines and supports quality specimen processing for diagnostic testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients professionally and ensure a positive, patientcentered experience.
- Perform highquality venipuncture and capillary blood collections, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Prepare, process, and handle specimens according to established clinical and forensic protocols.
- Clearly explain phlebotomy procedures and ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation as required.
- Complete daily assigned tasks accurately and on time under direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment at all times.
- Protect patient confidentiality and ensure accuracy in all patient information.
- Demonstrate strong organizational commitment and represent the company positively.
- Remain flexible and available for staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, oncall assignments, and overtime.
Job Requirements
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to produce highquality, errorfree work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong phlebotomy skills with experience in pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a highvolume setting.
- Must have reliable transportation (bus, Uber, rideshare services are not accepted).
- Must consistently arrive on time, complete full shifts, and maintain excellent attendance.
- Must live within a 20–25 minute commute of the worksite.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent — REQUIRED
- Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic) — Preferred
- Phlebotomy certification — Preferred
- Required in California, Nevada, and Washington
Work Experience
- Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience — REQUIRED
- 1+ years of phlebotomy experience — Preferred
- Customer service experience in retail or service industry — Preferred
- Keyboarding/data entry experience — Required
Additional Details

- Pay rate is based on verified years of direct experience (overlapping roles are not doublecounted).
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination.
- Candidate must remain available to work all scheduled shifts and stay for the entire duration.
