Job Title: Credentialing Specialist
Location: New York, New York, 10004
Duration: 03/02/2026 – 05/02/2026
Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Schedule: 5 days/week, 7 hours/day, 35 hours/week, no on-call
Work Setting: Onsite
Pay Range: $25-$28/hr.
Schedule Notes:

  • Location: Open to all facilities (Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens) EXCEPT Central Office - please highlight what locations worker is available to work at on resume (they will only be required to work at one site)

  • Must have experience as a Credentialing Specialist within healthcare - credentialing Providers to be considered qualified Healthcare Field Experience- Required Bachelors Degree- Required

  • Credentialing: Responsible for all aspects of provider credentialing and re-credentialing. • License Renewals: Ensures that physician licenses are renewed prior to expiration. • Primary Source Verification: Completes primary source verification for new and existing providers to ensure due diligence. • Records Management: Maintains assigned physician files, updating each item/action as processed. • Utilizes database status/alert and other report functions, software tools and links to scanned documentation. • Ensures that information is current and accurate. • Credentialing Standards: maintains consistency in database entry to ensure accurate and consistent processes. • Back-up Coverage: provide credentialing back-up for other members of the credentialing group
     




Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Required)




Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience as a Credentialing Specialist within healthcare credentialing providers

  • Audit experience




Job Summary

Facilitates all aspects of provider credentialing including initial appointment, reappointment, credential audits, and clinical privileging for Medical Staff and Allied Health Professionals.




Job Responsibilities

  • Perform credentialing and re-credentialing activities

  • Conduct primary source verification and license renewals

  • Maintain physician credentialing files and records

  • Utilize MDStaff credentialing software and maintain data accuracy

  • Ensure compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies

  • Provide credentialing backup coverage for team members
