About the Role:
- We are seeking a 1st Shift Manufacturing Supervisor to lead shop floor operations and support daily production goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supervising an hourly workforce, ensuring safety and quality standards, and driving operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.
- This is a hands-on leadership position, with significant time spent on the manufacturing floor supporting employees and production activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise hourly manufacturing employees to meet production schedules and operational priorities
- Drive safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency goals through Continuous Improvement (CI) activities
- Ensure employees are properly trained and have clear work instructions and tools to perform their roles
- Foster a positive and engaged work environment through effective communication and coaching
- Monitor individual and team performance; address performance concerns and implement corrective actions when needed
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and Human Resources teams
- Support adherence to company policies, procedures, and workplace standards
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience working in or supporting a shop floor manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated team leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts based on production needs
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with union or hourly wage employees
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement processes, Lean principles, or 5S methodologies
- Experience with Continuous Improvement Pay Plans (CIPP)
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing experience (4+ years)
- Work Environment & Additional Information
- Approximately 80% of time will be spent on the manufacturing floor
- Metatarsal safety shoes required starting Day 1
- Role may require operating company equipment (Gator) within the facility after safety certification
- Occasional travel to nearby facilities within a 20-mile radius may be required
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future
