IT Network Engineer III
Network Engineer (Senior Level)
Location: Hybrid (Preferred – 1 day/week onsite)
Prefer candidates within 1 hour of Charlotte, NC or Client, NY
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Overtime may be required
- Some flexibility needed to support global teams
Travel Requirement
- Up to 30% domestic travel
- Travel may increase during critical project phases
Scope of Position
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of advanced network solutions while providing strong technical expertise and guidance.
You will act as a subject matter expert across a broad range of networking technologies and play a key role in driving network performance, scalability, and innovation.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SD-WAN, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching technologies (Arista and Cisco), and wireless networking (especially MIST). Strong experience in network automation using Ansible, Python, and APIs for Infrastructure as Code is essential. Experience in manufacturing/OT environments is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
Network Architecture & Deployment
- Design and implement advanced network solutions for complex routing and switching environments
- Work with Arista, Cisco, and MIST platforms
- Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) based network deployments
Routing & Switching
- Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize BGP and OSPF environments
- Ensure high performance, resiliency, and scalability of enterprise networks
Wireless Network Engineering
- Design and manage wireless infrastructure with a focus on MIST solutions
- Ensure high availability, performance, and seamless connectivity
Network Automation
- Develop automation workflows using Ansible, Terraform, Python, and APIs
- Improve scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency through automation
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with global teams and stakeholders to align network strategies with business goals
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain detailed documentation of designs, configurations, and SOPs
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and industry best practices
Technology Evaluation & Innovation
- Evaluate new technologies, tools, and vendors
- Drive continuous improvement in performance, automation, and security
Operational Support
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support
- Ensure high network availability and reliability
Professional Development
- Stay current with industry trends and certifications
- Contribute to technical leadership and team development
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field (minimum required)
- 8+ years of experience as a Senior Network Engineer or similar role
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, Arista Product L5 (or equivalent) strongly preferred
- Arista and MIST certifications are a plus
Required Skills
- Strong leadership experience in cross-functional, global environments
- Advanced knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and switching technologies
- Hands-on experience with Arista platforms, including CloudVision
- Strong expertise in network automation using Ansible, Python, and REST APIs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Deep understanding of enterprise networking (LAN, SD-WAN)
- Strong wireless networking design and implementation experience
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with MIST wireless solutions (design, deployment, optimization)
- Cloud networking experience (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Understanding of hybrid cloud networking environments
- Financial awareness for budgeting, cost analysis, and vendor management
- Manufacturing/OT industry experience is a strong plus
