Role Overview:
- The IT Support Specialist provides support for workstations, software, and peripherals within a Microsoft networked environment. The primary responsibilities include installation, diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and upgrading of PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. The role also involves troubleshooting issues (in person, by phone, or via email) and providing end-user assistance as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade PC hardware and software in a Microsoft networked environment.
- Troubleshoot issues and provide timely support via in-person, phone, or email.
- Offer end-user assistance to ensure smooth workstation operation.
- Maintain optimal workstation performance through proactive hardware and software management.
- Prioritize tasks based on urgency, customer/patient impact, and ticket priority.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Creativity and willingness to learn and assist with special-purpose software.
- Required 2 years of technical assistance experience with resolving issues related to all computer hardware (laptops, desktops, iPads, tablets, etc.), connectivity/medical devices, scanners, conference AV equipment, cellular and VOIP phones, and corporate cellular phones.
- Should have A+ Certification, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCSDT) or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification.
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.
- Excellent customer service abilities.
- Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to resolve technical issues.
- Ability to handle complex technical problems and maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
- Organizational skills to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively with frequent interruptions while maintaining professionalism.
