Respiratory Therapist
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Unit: NICU
Start: ASAP
Location: Reno, NV 89511
Duration: 3 + Months Contract
Schedule: Day shift, 4x12 hours (with potential OT, on-call, and floating assignments)
Travel package: $3200/week for 48 hrs
Summary:
Seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a focus on NICU Pulmonary care. The role requires advanced skills in cardiopulmonary treatment for neonatal and pediatric patients, with the ability to perform complex respiratory therapies in a fast-paced Level 4 NICU environment.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and direct respiratory care services, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, airway clearance, invasive/non-invasive ventilation, and bedside spirometry.
- Perform CPR in emergency situations.
- Review physician orders, interpret diagnostics, and adjust therapy accordingly.
- Educate patients/families on respiratory equipment use.
- Monitor and document treatment responses; recommend adjustments as needed.
- Adhere to infection control, HIPAA, and hospital policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams and mentor students.
Requirements:
- Certifications: RRT, RCP, PALS, BLS (NRP preferred)
Experience: Minimum 2 years; Level 4 NICU experience preferred.
