Sr. Contract Administrator
Job Title: Sr. Contract Administrator
Location: Tampa, FL 33605 (ONSITE JOB)
Duration: 12 Months (Possible for Extension)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Contract Administrator to manage high-value, complex engineering and construction contracts supporting capital and maintenance projects for electric power generation, transmission, distribution, and natural gas delivery. This role involves contract preparation, negotiation, award, and administration with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Procurement & Planning:
- Determine optimal contracting methods for engineered equipment, engineering, and construction contracts.
- Assist project teams in developing technical specifications and scopes of work.
- Identify and mitigate contractual risks in collaboration with project management.

Contract Formation & Award:
- Prepare contract proformas, including general terms, conditions, and commercial terms for bid solicitations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, risk management issues, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships, ensuring opportunities for minority businesses.
- Lead bid evaluations, coordinating commercial assessments with technical reviews.
- Conduct and oversee contract negotiations in collaboration with legal, risk, and regulatory teams.
- Prepare award recommendations, finalize agreements, and coordinate contract execution.

Contract Administration & Compliance:
- Manage change orders, claims, disputes, and contract compliance.
- Oversee contractor adherence to lien law requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison with Legal and Risk Management departments.
- Conduct due diligence on potential contractors to assess technical and commercial capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with procurement regulations at federal, state, and local levels.

Process Improvement & Training:
- Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to improve procurement processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Provide training and guidance on procurement policies and best practices.
Supervision:
- Direct: None
- Indirect: Provides training and guidance to internal business partners on procurement policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 6 years in construction, project engineering, contract management, project management, or quantity surveying.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong negotiation and contract management abilities.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and execute tasks effectively.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel to company locations throughout Florida and vendor sites in North America as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ERP or SAP systems.
- Familiarity with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems (e.g., SMART by GEP).
