Job Title: Patient Services Representative I (PSR I)
Job Description:
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the company for patients, whether they are seeking routine care or making life-defining health decisions. In this role, the PSR I is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples and preparing those specimens for lab testing, following established procedures. The PSR I engages in direct patient interactions, creating a trusting atmosphere by clearly explaining procedures and performing blood draws safely, accurately, and skillfully. The PSR I demonstrates leadership behaviors while maintaining a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and the accuracy of patient information.
Key Responsibilities:

Daily Activities: Perform all duties accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor, ensuring high-quality results.

Safe, Professional Environment: Maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming atmosphere for patients to ensure their comfort and trust.

Specimen Collection & Processing: Confidently handle both forensic and clinical specimen collection, processing, and related duties while adhering to established practices and procedures.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to blood draws, patient information, and specimens in line with company standards.

Positive Organizational Image: Demonstrate organizational commitment by promoting a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Job Requirements:

Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced setting while meeting deadlines.

Independent Work: Capable of working independently with minimal supervision, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.

Phlebotomy Skills: Strong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients, ensuring blood draws are performed safely and skillfully.

Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed to meet staffing demands.

Reliable Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to and from work to ensure timely attendance. (Bus, Uber, or rideshare services are not considered reliable for this role.)
Required Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required.

Medical Training: Medical assistant or paramedic training is preferred.

Phlebotomy Certification: Preferred (Required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience:

Minimum Experience: A minimum of 6 months of experience in a healthcare setting is required.

Preferred Experience: One or more years of phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Customer Service Experience: Experience in customer service, particularly in a retail or service environment, is preferred.

Technical Skills: Keyboard/data entry experience is essential for accurate record-keeping and documentation.

Attendance & Reliability: Consistent and punctual attendance is crucial. Excessive absenteeism or tardiness will lead to termination. Candidates must be available to work whenever scheduled, arrive on time, and stay for the full duration of their shift.
