Manufacturing Supervisor - 2nd shift role - Hours will be 2PM - 10PM or 3PM - 11PM
seeking an experienced Production Operations Manager to lead second-shift manufacturing operations in Reedsville, PA. This role oversees approximately 30 direct labor associates, including both full-time and contingent manufacturing operators. The manager will spend ~60% of their time on the production floor, actively supervising operations, ensuring safety and compliance, and driving performance.
This is not a hands-on leadership role, this role is for someone who has previously managed teams in a manufacturing environment and can hit the ground running. Product and process training will be provided, but prior people leadership in manufacturing is essential.
Job Responsibilities
Manages a moderate-sized team of highly-skilled direct reports, overseeing various aspects of production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and adherence to deadlines, while effectively managing resources and fostering a collaborative work environment to achieve organizational objectives.
Reviews detailed financial forecasts and annual operating plans to strategically guide financial decisions and ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives, contributing to the overall success and sustainability of the business.
Drives continuous improvement initiatives within respective sectors, ensuring ongoing enhancements to processes, efficiency, and overall performance, thereby promoting innovation and operational excellence across the organization.
Ensures the maximization of manufacturing performance by optimizing key metrics such as productivity, cost of non-quality, equipment utilization, and overall efficiency, leveraging data-driven insights and best practices to drive operational effectiveness.
Prioritizes the competence and safety of operators by ensuring they receive thorough training in production processes and Health & Safety protocols relevant to the tools and equipment utilized, fostering a culture of safety and compliance within the production environment.
Maintains consistency and accuracy throughout the production process by ensuring strict adherence to specifications and requirements, thereby upholding quality standards and meeting customer expectations consistently.
Defines and establishes Lean projects, implementing strategies to streamline processes, eliminate waste, and optimize efficiency within project workflows, while adhering to Lean principles and methodologies to drive continuous improvement and maximize value delivery.
Oversees the implementation of new systems and processes, including New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring efficient integration and functionality across operations, thereby facilitating seamless transitions and minimizing disruptions to production activities.
Fosters a collaborative work environment characterized by open communication, mutual respect, and shared accountability, empowering team members to contribute their expertise and ideas towards achieving common goals and driving productivity and profitability across the organization.
Manages talent across the team, while driving employee selection, performance management, compensation management, career development, and ensuring effective operational management.
Requirements
Minimum Education: Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience with Bachelor's OR Minimum 1 years of experience with Master's in areas such as Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain or equivalent.
Minimum Certification: Lean Leadership Training/Certification or equivalent.
