Phlebotomist I - 1st Shift
Job Location: Shakopee MN
Job Duration: 3 months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday through Friday,The site operates from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Candidates must work 8-hour shifts, totaling 40 hours per week, and be flexible to cover various shift times.
Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is the face of the company to patients, providing essential support during their health routines and critical health decisions. The PSR I performs high-quality blood specimen collection and preparation for laboratory testing while adhering to established practices and procedures. This role involves direct patient interaction, fostering trust and confidence by clearly explaining procedures and performing safe, accurate blood draws. The PSR I also demonstrates leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy in handling patient information.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily activities accurately and within established timelines under the direction of the area supervisor.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment at all times.

Confidently perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing, following established protocols.

Accurately maintain required records and documentation.

Promote organizational commitment by presenting a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence with patients by explaining procedures clearly and compassionately.
Job Requirements:
Skills and Abilities:

Deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric specimen collection.

Strong customer service skills, preferably from retail or service environments.

Proficient in keyboarding and data entry.

Demonstrate sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.

Flexibility to work based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
Education and Certifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
-
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Experience:
-
Minimum of 6 months phlebotomy experience required; 1+ years preferred.

Experience with Epic electronic medical record system highly preferred.
