Shift: Mon - Fri 07:00 AM – 06:00 PM. (8hour/day)

 

Job Summary
The Patient Services Representative III – Floater is the frontline representative for patients seeking routine testing or critical diagnostic services. This role includes drawing high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and providing an excellent patient experience. The PSR III creates an atmosphere of trust and professionalism, explains procedures clearly, and performs venipuncture skillfully, safely, and accurately.

The PSR III may work in multiple settings—including patient service centers, in-office phlebotomy sites, or physician offices—based on business needs. This role requires demonstrated leadership behaviors, strong process-excellence skills, and strict attention to confidentiality and accuracy.




Key Responsibilities



Specimen Collection & Processing

  • Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection following established practices and procedures.

  • Execute accurate venipuncture and capillary collection, including pediatric and geriatric draws.

  • Verify patient demographics, initials, and signatures after specimen collection to confirm correct labeling.

  • Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing accurately and on time.



Patient Interaction

  • Provide a professional, safe, and compassionate experience for patients.

  • Explain procedures to patients clearly to promote comfort and confidence.

  • Promote a positive image of the organization through excellent customer service.



Operational & Administrative Duties

  • Maintain required documentation and records.

  • Adhere to all company policies, including dress code, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements.

  • Perform daily site activities independently with minimal supervision.

  • Assist at multiple locations as needed, sometimes with minimal notice.



Environment & Team Support

  • Maintain clean, safe, and professional work areas.

  • Communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors, and patients.

  • Contribute to a culture of flexibility, teamwork, and continuous improvement.




Job Requirements

  • Ability to produce high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced setting.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

  • Flexibility: able to work weekends, holidays, on-call rotations, and overtime as needed.

  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if travel required).

  • Ability to travel and cover multiple locations with short notice.

  • Strong customer-service skills and ability to embrace change.

  • Keyboarding and data-entry proficiency.




Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.




Work Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience.
