Phlebotomist Floater
Position: Phlebotomist III – Floater
Location: Multiple assigned sites (PSC, IOP, house calls, etc., based on business needs)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (varies by need)
Rotational Saturdays: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM, 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM, or 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Hours/Week: 40 hours
Desired Start Date: April 28, 2025
End Date: July 31, 2025
State License Required: Maryland (MD)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Phlebotomist III – Floater to represent the face of Quest Diagnostics to patients across various service settings. This individual will be responsible for collecting quality blood specimens and providing exceptional patient care while covering multiple roles and locations. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong leadership qualities, outstanding phlebotomy skills, and a commitment to customer service and process excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform safe and accurate blood collections on patients in a variety of clinical settings.

Provide reliable coverage across multiple locations and perform different roles as needed.

Create an atmosphere of trust by clearly explaining procedures to patients.

Step in to lead daily site operations when necessary.

Serve as a mentor, coach, and point of contact for new hires.

Support onboarding for new clients and staff, ensuring smooth transitions.

Handle high-volume and high-complexity patient practices that require specialized skills.

Collaborate with various departments such as Sales, Laboratory Testing, IT, Billing, and Logistics.

Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Required Education & Experience:
Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
-
Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Experience:
-
Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
-
At least 3 years of experience in a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) environment preferred.

Previous customer service experience in retail or healthcare preferred.

Keyboard and data entry experience required.
Additional Details:

Must be flexible and willing to work rotating Saturdays.

Strong interpersonal skills, leadership capabilities, and the ability to work independently are essential.
