Job Title: IBM WebSphere System Administrator
Location: Richmond, VA 23219
Duration: 12 Months
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced IBM WebSphere System Administrator to provide middleware support for mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth expertise in WebSphere Application Server administration and demonstrate strong technical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide system administration support for IBM WebSphere middleware environments.
- Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of WebSphere Application Server components including HTTP servers and plugins.
- Troubleshoot complex middleware and application issues across multiple environments.
- Implement and maintain failover, disaster recovery, and load balancing solutions.
- Monitor and optimize application server performance.
- Collaborate with network and infrastructure teams to ensure secure and efficient integration.
- Support automation and scripting for routine administrative tasks.
- Participate in the planning and execution of system upgrades and patch management.
Required Experience:
- Proven experience as a WebSphere Application Server Administrator.
- Advanced knowledge of HTTP, WebSphere Application Server architecture, and plugin components.
- Strong UNIX/Linux administration skills, including shell scripting and Jython scripting.
- Experience with performance tuning, failover strategies, disaster recovery, and network configurations.
- Familiarity with network concepts such as Load Traffic Management (LTM) and junction configurations.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
