Location: Salem, VA 24153, Fully onsite (5 days onsite per week)
Duration: 12+ Month W2 Contract (Potential Extension of contract)/Conversion into FTE

An Environmental Data Specialist manages and reviews environmental and hazardous waste data to ensure it follows federal regulations (like RCRA and DOT). They make sure all waste-related documentation is accurate, compliant, and properly recorded in company systems.

About the Role:
An Environmental Data Specialist manages and reviews environmental and hazardous waste data to ensure it follows federal regulations (like RCRA and DOT). They make sure all waste-related documentation is accurate, compliant, and properly recorded in company systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Roles & responsibilities:
- Update database and share site with data for all new, recertified, or amended profiles.
- Update share site with current approvals and Notification of Treatment Standards forms.
- Technical regulatory review of all new, amended, and recertified waste profile data (DOT, RCRA, Land Ban, and miscellaneous notes). Review for internal profile inconsistencies.
- Efficiently track and run reports that could require an advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Validation of shipment data for waste tracking.
Experience required:
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel or similar database software
- Knowledge of word processors, like Microsoft Word
- Excellent typing and transcription skills, including typing at fast speeds.
- Ability to research and collect data.
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- RCRA and DOT Regulatory compliance or Quality or Government Regulation experience preferred.
- Manifesting and profiling hazardous and non-hazardous waste experience preferred.
- Pre-assignment and/or pre-hire customer-specific drug and/or alcohol testing may be required by certain customer-contract requirements.
- Such testing may include urinalysis, oral swab, drug hair follicle testing and/or alcohol testing.
Qualifications Required:
- B.S. Degree is required.
