Phlebotomist II
Job Location: Edina
Job Duration: 3+ months (Possibilities of Extension)
Shift: 8am-4:30pm M-F
Pay Range - $24/hr - $25/hr on W2
Position Summary
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary representative to patients, providing a professional and trustworthy experience during clinical and forensic specimen collection. Responsibilities include drawing high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and maintaining accuracy, safety, and confidentiality. This role may be placed in a doctor’s office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs. The PSR II is expected to demonstrate leadership behaviors, commitment to organizational values, and excellence in patient care.
Primary Responsibilities
Patient Interaction & Specimen Collection

Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection following established procedures.

Draw blood specimens safely, accurately, and skillfully, including pediatric and geriatric patients.

Create an atmosphere of trust by explaining procedures and maintaining professionalism.

Verify patient demographics and obtain patient initials/signature post-venipuncture to confirm proper labeling.
Operational & Administrative Duties

Perform daily activities accurately, efficiently, and on schedule under the direction of the area supervisor.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.

Prepare and process collected specimens for laboratory testing.

Maintain required documentation and records in accordance with company standards.

Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Job Requirements
Skills & Competencies

Ability to provide accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

Strong phlebotomy skills including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Sound judgment and the ability to make decisions based on established procedures.

Keyboarding and data entry proficiency.
Work Conditions

Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call assignments.

Must be able to travel to multiple locations with minimal notice.

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if required).
Education Requirements
-
High school diploma or equivalent—Required.
Experience Requirements
-
1–3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary draws—Required.
