Assistant - Financial Aide
Job Title: Assistant - Financial Aide
Location: Edison, NJ 08837
Duration: 1+ year
Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Schedule: 5 days/week, 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday, no weekends, no on-call, No hybrid or remote options. Occasional evenings may be required based on department activity.
Pay Range: $24-$27/hr.
Schedule Notes: Required Experience & Skills: Minimum 1 year of experience in financial aid or a related administrative/education role. Basic PeopleSoft and/or Workday experience. Strong data entry accuracy. Ability to file FAFSA, NJ Grants, and/or STARS. Must be able to process loans and reconcile student aid packages. General understanding of education department guidelines. Ideal Candidate Profile: Background in higher education is highly preferred. Proficiency in Excel (tracking, documentation, organization). Strong written communication skills, especially email. Proactive, organized, and able to manage high volumes of documentation. Demonstrates initiative, follow through, and professionalism. Interview Process: In person interviews are preferred by leadership. This helps assess communication skills, professionalism, and candidate motivation.
Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum 1 year of experience in financial aid or a related administrative or education role.

Experience filing FAFSA, NJ Grants, and/or STARS.

Ability to process student loans and reconcile student aid packages.

Basic experience with PeopleSoft and/or Workday.

Strong data entry accuracy and documentation management skills.

Office experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Job Summary:
Assist the Director of Financial Aid in the development, implementation, and evaluation of student financial aid programs in the Schools of Nursing and Medical Imaging.
Job Responsibilities:

Act as a resource person for financial aid information to students.

Prepare financial aid information and application packets for students.

Participate with the Director in maintaining scholarship awards and files.

Keep updated on financial aid regulations, innovations, and changes.

Work with the schools, admissions, registration, and fiscal departments in the operation of the financial aid program.

Collaborate with professional staff and administration of the schools to ensure a smooth and accurate flow of information between offices.

Communicate effectively with visitors, families, students, and all personnel.

Assist with student services activities such as graduation, orientation, and related events.

Attend administrative staff meetings.

Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Adhere to Client organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
