Job Title: Data Scientist
Location Requirement: Must reside in one of the preferred 15 states (AZ, FL, GA, ID, IA, KY, MI, NE, NM, NY – outside greater NYC, OH, TX, UT, WA – outside greater Seattle, WI).
Schedule: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM local timezone
Type: Temp-to-hire based on performance
Role Summary
This position focuses on advanced data science, machine learning, and AI model development within the healthcare domain. The Data Scientist will execute analytical experiments, perform complex data analysis, and build/optimize ML models—including RAG pipelines and agentic workflows—to support business outcomes such as improved care gaps, enhanced Star ratings, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Data Science & Machine Learning
Analyze complex datasets to derive actionable insights and support strategic decisions.
Develop, train, and optimize ML models using supervised, unsupervised, deep learning, and reinforcement learning techniques.
Fine-tune pre-trained models for specific workloads to achieve high performance.
Implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines to improve LLM accuracy and reliability.
Build agentic workflows enabling autonomous AI-driven tasks.
Data Engineering & Quality
Clean, validate, and preprocess large datasets; handle missing values and outliers.
Work with SQL/NoSQL databases, ETL pipelines, and data warehousing solutions.
AI Deployment & Monitoring
Deploy and monitor ML/AI models in production environments, ensuring accuracy and stability.
Partner with engineering, product, and business teams for integration into existing systems.
Leadership & Collaboration
Mentor junior data scientists and support analytics project planning/delivery.
Present complex analytical results to technical and non-technical audiences.
Stay current with AI/ML advancements and propose new methodologies.
Required Skills & Experience
6+ years as a Data Scientist, ideally in healthcare (other industries acceptable).
Strong programming: Python, R; frameworks like TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch.
Statistical & ML expertise: k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, neural networks, etc.
Big data: Hadoop, Spark.
Agentic workflows experience (AI agents for autonomous operations).
RAG expertise and LLM enhancement techniques.
Model fine-tuning on specialized datasets/tasks.
Data visualization: Tableau, Power BI.
Database experience: SQL & NoSQL, ETL, data warehouse concepts.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking.
Preferred Experience
Cloud platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure AI Studio.
Experience in NLP or Computer Vision.
Other Requirements
PhD preferred (or equivalent advanced experience).
