Environmental Compliance Coordinator
Job Title: Environmental Compliance Coordinator

Duration: 12+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Job Summary:
The Environmental Compliance Coordinator (ECC) provides environmental support for multiple projects at the coal-fueled Mt. Storm Power Station in Mt. Storm, WV. This role ensures company compliance with environmental, chemical, waste management, and permit regulations. The ECC is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the work site in alignment with regulatory and company standards. Serving as the liaison between Project Management and PG Environmental, the ECC coordinates and monitors site activities to maintain compliance with environmental and safety rules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and enforce Client’s Supplemental Terms & Conditions, Part III – Environmental Requirements (pages 72 – 84).
- Conduct inspections and assessments; provide advice or recommendations on compliance issues to Project Management.
- Analyze and evaluate environmental data; prepare reports to update management on site compliance and safety records.
- Act as primary coordinator with internal departments on environmental compliance matters.
- Ensure processes, procedures, and systems are in place to maintain compliance.
- Investigate non-compliance events and make appropriate internal notifications.
- Identify root causes of environmental issues and propose corrective action plans.
- Implement corrective actions and coordinate hazardous waste disposal.
- Prepare data and log environmental issues and near misses through KPI/Event Alert Processes or collaborate with PG Environmental.
- Identify and coordinate services or materials needed for environmental/safety program administration.
- Ensure training needs are identified, assigned, and verified for completion; provide related training to site personnel.
- Stay current on environmental policies and regulations.
- Maintain a physical presence in the field for at least 80% of the workday to promptly address issues with contractors and project teams.
- Maintain necessary training, qualifications, and certifications.
- Evaluate new regulations and coordinate corresponding compliance plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, or related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to develop rapport and coordinate with all management and staff levels.
- Skilled in resolving technical problems and implementing changes.

Additional Notes:
- The ECC is responsible for managing their own travel between assigned sites if multiple sites are included.
