Job Title: Specimen Technician
Duration: 3 Months + Extension
Location: Lewisville, TX, 75067
Shift Time: Sun - Thurs 11pm-7:30am
Pay Rate: $17/hr - $23/hr on W2
A-station operations
Presorting specimens
Pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory
Imaging/microfilming
Centrifugation and aliquoting
Ensure all tasks are completed accurately, confidently, and within required turnaround times.
Learn and understand specimen types and related laboratory tests ordered by clients.
Maintain compliance with changing test-ordering regulations and procedures.
Meet productivity, quality, and departmental completion standards.
Enter data efficiently, maintaining a minimum of 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Follow all safety, compliance, and company policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively with team members and staff at all levels.
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and customer demands.
Fast-paced production environment with a strong focus on productivity and quality standards.
Exposure to biohazard materials; adherence to safety protocols is required.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
Majority of shifts are overnight/night shifts.
Availability for weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call work may be required based on staffing needs.

The Specimen Processing Technician I (SPT I) provides general support within the Specimen Processing Department. This role involves handling and processing laboratory specimens accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. The position requires strong data entry skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
A-station operations

Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.

- Basic computer proficiency.
- Strong data entry and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of laboratory testing or specimen processing.
- Medical background or familiarity with medical terminology related to clinical laboratories.
- Previous laboratory or hospital laboratory experience.
- Experience working in a production-based environment.
