Medical Technologist
Job Title: Medical Technologist (Blood Bank)
Location: Houston, TX
Contract Length: 3 Months
Shift: Evening | 2:45 PM – 11:15 PM
Schedule: 40 hrs/week | Every 3rd weekend & scheduled holidays (if applicable)
Role Overview:
Medical Technologist supporting Blood Bank operations across three hospital locations. All staff rotate through all three blood banks based on experience and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform Blood Bank testing and related laboratory duties

Manage and replenish patient supply inventory across acute, critical, and ambulatory care areas

Oversee Omnicell, OptiFlex, and Floor Stock systems for accurate charge capture and inventory control

Review discrepancies with nursing to improve compliance

Monitor financial, productivity, and operational metrics

Optimize inventory levels to improve service and reduce costs

Conduct usage analysis, par level reviews, and operational meetings
Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology (or related field)

AMT or ASCP certification (required)

Blood Bank experience – REQUIRED

Experience with PeopleSoft, Omnicell, and inventory systems preferred
-
Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and customer service skills
