Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I)
Location: Miami, FL
Duration: 4 months +, temp-to-hire
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Alternating Saturdays: 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Hours/Week: 29
Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) is the face of the company, delivering compassionate and professional care to patients visiting for routine health testing or critical diagnostics. This role involves skillfully drawing blood specimens and preparing them for lab analysis in accordance with established procedures. The Phlebotomist I ensures patient comfort and confidence while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily specimen collection and processing accurately and on time under supervisor guidance
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment
- Collect forensic and clinical specimens following standard protocols with confidence and precision
- Document and maintain all required records accurately
- Communicate procedures clearly to patients, building trust and reassurance
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and uphold process excellence
- Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the public
Requirements:
- Minimum 12 months of phlebotomy experience required due to high patient volume (30-40 draws/day)
- Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric patients
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Customer service experience in retail or service preferred
- Proficient keyboarding and data entry skills
- Flexible availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed
- Reliable personal transportation (bus, Uber, rideshare NOT accepted)
- Must read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Education & Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
- Phlebotomy certification preferred
Additional Information:
- Must live within a 20–25 minute commute of the Miami site to ensure reliable coverage
- Selected candidates will attend mandatory classroom training at our Miramar lab (dates TBD), including travel to nearby Patient Service Centers
