Pay Rate: $45/hr.
Description:
Must Have:
- Experience working with an ERP (Oracle preferred but any other ERPs work as well)
- Be able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Be able to use computer - Microsoft Outlook
- KANBAN planning experience is a plus (not a MUST)
The Senior Buyer role requires minimum of 5 years experience in purchasing field, with strong knowledge of international procurement & shipping (total cost model). This position requires outstanding organizational, interpersonal, communication and follow-through skills, with proven ability to work independently. While managing Kanban ordering process, this is also a broad-based role incorporating supplier communications, negotiation, document preparation, records management, financial administration, inventory management, new product introduction, and general problem solving.
This position reports to the Supply Chain Manager and is part of the Manufacturing team, located in San Jose and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Support complex Electro/Mechanical supply chain and inventory management system
Plan inventory levels, locations, and execute all forecasting and planning programs
Identify and execute of inventory reduction / cost reduction projects
Be a champion for material processes. Promote problem solving around On Time Delivery misses daily, work to implement effective countermeasures, negotiate with Suppliers, and provide feedback to affected parties on delivery challenges.
The essential requirements of the job include:
5+ years' experience Purchasing and working with supply chain and inventory management systems (i.e., KANBAN, MRP, Oracle or similar inventory system, plus Advanced skills in Microsoft Products).
Excellent organizational skills and strong communication across teams and upwards through the organization.
Proven track record to prioritize multiple tasks and assignments.
