ENTRY Phlebotomist I
Job Title: ENTRY Phlebotomist I
Location: Fort Myers, FL
Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Rotational Saturday: 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Job Summary:
The ENTRY Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the welcoming face of the organization, providing compassionate and professional support to patients during their visit. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals passionate about healthcare and eager to learn phlebotomy skills while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in using self-service kiosks or handheld tablets.
- Address patient questions and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming waiting area.
- Support other phlebotomists during breaks and downtime.
- Learn and develop phlebotomy skills under supervision.
- Once trained, perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing.
- Ensure accurate documentation and uphold patient confidentiality.
- Demonstrate commitment to organizational values and a positive public image.
Requirements:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- 1–2 years of client-facing customer service experience (Required)
(Retail, Home Health Aide, Hospitality, etc.) - Keyboard/data entry proficiency
- Phlebotomy experience is NOT required – training will be provided
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of customer service and patient care
- Willingness to learn and grow within the healthcare field
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Additional Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation (rideshare/bus not considered reliable)
- Must be punctual and available for the full scheduled shift
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination
- Candidates should live within a 20–25 minute commute from the worksite
Important Note:
This is an entry-level position into phlebotomy. Candidates must be willing to learn and perform phlebotomy duties. If you are only interested in front desk or greeter roles and not open to learning phlebotomy, please do not apply.
