Phlebotomist II - Float
Duration: 4 Months
Location: Homestead, FL, 33033
Shift: m to f 5 am to 3 pm alt. Sat 6 am to 11 am.
Job Summary
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, delivering high-quality phlebotomy and specimen collection services in a safe, professional, and patient-centered manner. This role involves collecting and processing clinical and forensic specimens, verifying patient information, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring compliance with all company policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards. Assignments may include physician offices, patient service centers, or multiple locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities

Perform daily duties accurately and on time under the direction of the Area Supervisor

Collect blood specimens (venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, and geriatric) using established procedures

Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing

Verify patient identity and demographic information; obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm correct labeling

Ensure specimen labeling is completed in the patient’s presence and is accurate

Maintain complete, accurate records and documentation

Create a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for patients

Explain procedures clearly to patients and foster trust and confidence

Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and attention to detail

Protect patient confidentiality and ensure data accuracy

Promote a positive company image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public
Work Environment & Scheduling
-
May work in patient service centers, physician offices, or multiple locations

Flexible scheduling required, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts

Travel between multiple sites may be required, often with minimal notice
-
Float positions require punctual arrival at assigned sites
-
Travel to Key West is required for this role

Training locations may vary based on trainer availability
Required Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED)
-
1–3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections (REQUIRED)

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment

Excellent customer service and communication skills
-
Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment
-
Commitment to company policies, dress code, safety standards, and guiding principles

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (REQUIRED if applicable)

Ability to travel to multiple locations and work flexible hours
Preferred Qualifications
-
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training
-
Phlebotomy certification (REQUIRED in CA, NV, and WA)

2+ years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment
-
Customer service experience in retail or service-based settings
-
Keyboarding and data entry experience

Must have reliable personal transportation (rideshare, bus, or drop-off is not acceptable)

Must be punctual, work scheduled shifts in full, and maintain dependable attendance
-
Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination
-
Float staff may submit mileage for expense reimbursement
