Job Summary:
- Under general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, delivers lifesupport, resuscitation, monitoring and various medical gases therapy to patients.
- Performs invasive and noninvasive diagnostic procedures to Intensive Care and General Practice Units patients.
- Maintains clinical expertise for Departmental assignments at various business units throughout, as assigned.
- Communicates effectively with patients, coworkers, physicians and other system employees as needed, regarding patient care needs.
- Adequately documents all aspects of patient care. Supervises, directs and delegates to Respiratory Therapists, Respiratory orients, externs and students, as assigned.
- Completes necessary and accurate patient billing information.
Education:
- Associate of Science Degree, from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
Required Certification & Licensure:
- Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Current License Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
- BLS
Skills:
- Two years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience.
Schedule:
- Candidate MUST have certification RRT
- Preferred candidate have NICU experience
- Must be registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care
- Current license – Respiratory Therapist State of Michigan Patients
- If working ICU could have possibly 6 beds (can vary) o If working in treatment 1 to 20 patients (can vary)
