Specimen Technician
Specimen Processor (SPT I)
Location: Shelton, CT
Shift: Tuesday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM & Saturday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Duration: 5 months
Pay Rate: $22/hr
Job Summary:
Seeking a detail-oriented Specimen Processor (SPT I) to join our lab support team. The role involves specimen handling, data entry, and general lab prep tasks like presorting, centrifugation, aliquoting, and delivering samples. Accuracy, speed, and adaptability are essential.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform data entry (6,000 keystrokes/hour)

Handle and process lab specimens

Maintain productivity and quality standards

Work safely in a biohazard environment

Communicate effectively across teams

Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent

Basic computer skills

No experience required; lab or medical background preferred

Ability to sit/stand for long periods

Flexibility for changing tasks and priorities
Note: Weekend, holiday, and overtime availability may be required.
