Location: Miami, FL 33196
Duration: 5 Months+ (extendable)
Shift: Mon - Fri 5:30 am - 4:30 pm; Rotational Saturdays 6:30 am - 10:30 am
Job Summary:
- The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the primary point of contact for patients.
- Responsible for performing high-quality blood collection and specimen processing while ensuring patient safety, confidentiality, and comfort.
- Follows established clinical and forensic procedures, maintains accurate documentation, and demonstrates professionalism, leadership behaviors, and attention to detail in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily assigned tasks accurately and on time under the direction of the Area Supervisor.
- Collect clinical and forensic blood specimens using approved phlebotomy techniques.
- Prepare, label, process, and store specimens according to established protocols.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients to build trust and confidence.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Ensure strict compliance with patient confidentiality and data accuracy standards.
- Complete required records and documentation accurately.
- Promote a positive company image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and process excellence.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to produce high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable keyboarding and data entry skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts as needed.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
- Medical assistant or paramedic training (Preferred).
- Phlebotomy certification (Preferred; Required in CA, NV, and WA).
Work Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience (Required).
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience (Preferred).
- Customer service experience in retail or service environments (Preferred).
- Data entry and computer experience (Required).
