Position Summary:
- The Medical Staff Office Senior Coordinator manages the non-clinical physician operations at Client, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations and standards. This role is part of a collaborative, cross-functional team supporting administrative physician operations.
Key Duties:
- Support provider onboarding, ensuring Collaborative Practice Agreements and prescriptive authority documents are fully executed and maintained.
- Manage initial credentialing and re-credentialing of nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and physicians according to Joint Commission, NCQA, and URAC standards.
- Use MDStaff database to record and maintain credentialing information.
- Conduct sanctions and compliance monitoring; alert Credentialing Manager and Revenue Director of any undisclosed negative findings.
- Process malpractice insurance verifications as per policy.
- Maintain provider and physician SharePoint sites; communicate provider statuses to leadership and internal teams.
- Submit system access requests upon credentialing approval.
- Notify system analysts and leadership of system or agency interruptions/updates.
- Participate actively in team meetings and model a positive attitude.
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 3 years in a fast-paced, complex administrative environment with credentialing experience.
- Strong understanding of initial credentialing and re-credentialing processes, including primary source verification and compliance monitoring.
- Healthcare industry experience preferred.
- Adaptability to change in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Strong relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently assess situations and make decisions.
- Project management experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED (verifiable) required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required.
- NAMSS Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification preferred.
- Experience with MDStaff preferred.
