Job Title: Measurements Technician III
Job Location: Fairport, NY
Duration: 3 months, possibility of extension
Schedule:

• Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm.
• Occasional schedule flexibility may be required based on project needs; advance notice will be provided.

Pay Rate: $30 hourly on w2

Position Summary:

• This position focuses on precision optical testing and alignment.
• The candidate will support the assembly, integration, testing, and qualification of an optical metrology system, as well as the testing and optimization of precision optical systems.

Education:

• Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Degree in Optics or a related field preferred but not required.

Experience

• 4+ years in optics (with Associate's Degree), or
• 2+ years in optics (with Bachelor's Degree).
• Background in optical alignment, test setup, and data processing.

Requirements:

• Solid understanding of geometrical optics.
• Experience analyzing data using standard tools (e.g., Excel, MATLAB, Python).
• Ability to learn technical procedures quickly and contribute to workflow improvements.
• Comfortable working in a research environment with evolving requirements and open-ended problem solving.
• Self-directed; able to work effectively with limited on-site supervision.
• Demonstrated safe-handling practices for sensitive optical components.

Preferred:

• Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
