Clinical Dietician
Job Title: Dietitian (Outpatient Paediatric)
Location: Houston, TX 77030
Duration: 3 Months+ initially (Potential for Extensions)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | Day Shift | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Registered Dietitian with pediatric clinical nutrition experience, ideally in an outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive age-appropriate nutritional assessments, develop care plans, and offer diabetes education and support for pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nutritional care plans
- Conduct age-appropriate assessments for patients at nutritional risk, including diabetes education
- Adapt nutrition plans to meet economic, cultural, and social needs
- Reassess patients periodically and adjust care plans accordingly
- Provide age-appropriate education to patients and families
- Assess readiness and learning needs for patients/families
- Participate in the creation and review of educational materials for patients and staff
- Texas Dietitian License (TDLR) – Required
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration – Required
- Clinical nutrition experience in pediatrics – Preferred
- Experience in an outpatient setting – Highly preferred
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and pediatric nutrition
- Ability to assess needs, identify deficiencies, and provide appropriate interventions
- Proficiency in educational methods, care planning, and documentation
- Comfortable using word processing, spreadsheets, and nutrition software
