Phlebotomist II
Title: Patient Services Representative II (PSR II)
Duration: 3 + Months
Shift: M to F 8 am to 5 pm
Location: Plano, TX, 75093
Position Summary
Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients and represents the organization in both clinical and service settings. Responsible for performing high-quality blood specimen collection, including venipuncture and capillary draws, while ensuring patient safety, accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with established policies and procedures.
This role requires strong phlebotomy expertise, customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture, capillary collections, and specimen processing in clinical and forensic settings.

Collect pediatric, adult, and geriatric specimens using proper identification and labeling protocols.

Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials/signature post-venipuncture to confirm accurate labeling.

Ensure specimens are properly labeled, processed, stored, and prepared for laboratory testing.

Maintain accurate records and required documentation in compliance with company policies.

Demonstrate leadership behaviors and promote organizational commitment.

Maintain strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Create a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for patients.

Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting daily productivity and accuracy goals.

Travel between Patient Service Centers (PSC) and in-office phlebotomy locations as required.

Adapt to flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call coverage.

Demonstrate superior customer service and effective communication with patients, peers, and supervisors.
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (required).

1–3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Experience in Patient Service Center (PSC) environment preferred.

Proficiency in venipuncture, capillary collection, and specimen handling.

Strong data entry and keyboarding skills.

Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if applicable).

Ability to exercise sound judgment and follow established procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training.
-
Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, WA).
-
Customer service experience in retail or healthcare environment.
