Job Title: Software Engineer – Endur
Location: Houston, TX 23219 (Hybrid, 2–3 days onsite; no remote)
Team: Trading & Supply CC (Crude / Oil Liquids focus)
Job Type: Contract
Job Duration: Approx. 6-month Contract-to-Hire (straight contract may be considered for strong candidates)
Job Description:
Endur across the stack with hands-on development. Work is ongoing BAU, enhancements, and backlog. Not new builds or major upgrade projects.
Must-Have Skills:
- Endur development experience in a corporate environment
- JVS and OpenComponents
- Strong SQL and T-SQL scripting; Oracle familiarity
- Experience with KX Grid Enabled Scripts and Operational Services
- Comfortable supporting front-to-back scenarios in Trading IT
- 3–5 years (JG3) or 5–7 years (JG4) total IT experience with Endur
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Understanding of trade capture, risk, and settlements
- Oil liquids/crude domain exposure
- Azure DevOps familiarity
Interview Process:
- Technical interview (hands-on Endur/JVS questions, e.g., identifying transaction tables such as AB_TRN)
- Team/fit interview
Start and Logistics:
- Start: ASAP
- Onsite in Houston required (Shell’s return-to-office mandate)
- C2H intent at 6 months; straight-contract option may be considered
Common Past Rejection Reasons
- Claimed Endur or experience cannot be verified
- Too functional/theoretical with limited hands-on JVS/OpenComponents experience
- Insufficient SQL depth
- Remote-only availability
