Job Title: Dosimetrist
Location: Elmhurst, NY, 11373
Duration: 3 months+ of contract (contract to Hire)
Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Schedule: Hybrid schedule 2-3 days onsite a week.
Pay Range: $85 - $90/hr. on W2
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Certified by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB)
Licensure & Certifications:
- MDCB Certification – Required
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in medical dosimetry
- Experience with EPIC Beacon and/or Aria OIS – Minimum 1 Year – Required
- Strong math and physics skills for radiation planning
- Effective communication with interdisciplinary oncology teams
Job Summary:
- Working closely with physicists, strong technical skills in math and physics to accurately design radiation plans. Effective communication and partnership with oncology team.
- Collaborates closely with radiation therapists, physicists, and oncologists to design and calculate accurate radiation treatment plans.
- Prepares computerized plans for both external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) and brachytherapy.
- Oversees dosimetry operations, ensures radiation safety compliance, and participates in QA and CQI programs.
- Triages daily setup questions from therapists and maintains proper equipment operations.
- Participates in interdisciplinary planning conferences and maintains clinical competence via continued education.
