Phlebotomist I - 1st Shift
Job Location: Sayville NY
Job Duration: 3 Months
Shift/Time Zone: Alternating week schedule
A schedule: M-F 7:30am-3pm, Sat 7am-12pm, B schedule: M-F 7am-3pm
Pay Range: $21/hr on W2
Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the company to patients, supporting them during routine health visits and life-defining health decisions. The PSR I is responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing while adhering to established procedures. This role involves direct patient contact, fostering an atmosphere of trust and confidence, explaining procedures, and performing blood draws accurately, safely, and skillfully. The PSR I demonstrates leadership behaviors, process excellence, and sensitivity to patient confidentiality and information accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

Maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming environment.

Confidently perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing according to established practices and procedures.

Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Job Requirements:

Deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

Exhibit excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Flexible availability to meet staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime.
Education and Certifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Experience:
-
Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience required.

One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.

Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.

Keyboard/data entry experience required.
Additional Requirements:
-
Must be able to use a straight needle for blood collection.
