Phlebotomist II
Duration: 3 months
Location: Nags Head NC
Shift: M through TH – 7:45am – 4:30pm (1 hour lunch), F 7:45am – 3:15pm
Job Summary:
The PSR II represents the company to patients, ensuring quality blood specimen collection and preparation. This role involves interacting with patients directly to explain procedures, ensuring patient trust and confidence, and performing venipuncture in a safe and accurate manner. The PSR II will also maintain patient confidentiality, demonstrate leadership behaviors, and uphold company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:

Specimen Collection & Processing:
-
Draw blood samples (both forensic and clinical) from patients with skill, safety, and accuracy.

Perform verification of patient demographic information (name, initials, patient signature post-venipuncture) to ensure correct labeling and patient data.

Prepare specimens for lab testing following established procedures.

Patient Interaction:

Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence with patients.

Explain procedures to patients in a clear and empathetic manner.

Maintain a professional and safe environment for both patients and colleagues.

Recordkeeping & Documentation:

Accurately maintain required records and documentation.

Adherence to Policies & Procedures:

Demonstrate leadership behaviors.

Follow company dress code, employee health and safety protocols, and guiding principles for everyday excellence.

Operational Excellence:

Perform daily activities accurately and in a timely manner.

Maintain a flexible schedule and be available to work at various locations as needed (may include weekends, holidays, and overtime).

Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Job Requirements:
-
Experience & Skills:
-
3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Qualifications & Abilities:
-
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
-
Ability to make decisions based on established procedures.
-
Must demonstrate superior customer focus and communicate openly with peers, supervisors, and patients.

Reliable transportation to work, with a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license (if applicable).

Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Willing to travel to multiple locations, with flexible hours, as business needs dictate.

Will be required to work in multiple locations as needed, including traveling between sites with short notice.
