Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner
Job Location: Milwaukee, WI
Job Duration: 3 Months+ contract  (Possibilities of Extension)


Shift: Day shift 06:00 – 18:30 x 3 shifts per week

Job Summary:
  • The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for performing designated respiratory care and pulmonary diagnostic procedures in accordance with hospital and department policies.
  • The role involves the treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies or abnormalities, across both critical and non-critical care settings.
  • These services are provided based on physician orders and include therapeutic treatments, diagnostic testing, and various forms of ventilatory support.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform therapeutic treatments and diagnostic testing using medical gases, equipment, and environmental control systems (e.g., humidification and aerosols).
  • Administer medications to the cardiopulmonary system as prescribed.
  • Provide ventilatory support, including maintenance and management of life support systems.
  • Conduct bronchial clearance and breathing exercises for patients.
  • Provide patient education on respiratory care and procedures.
  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) when necessary.
  • Maintain natural and artificial airways to support respiratory function.
  • Complete procedures on patients of all ages, including in critical care and non-critical care areas.
  • Follow hospital and departmental protocols to ensure safe, high-quality care.
  • Uphold the [Hospital/Organization] mission, vision, and values in all job functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
 
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of worked or educational clinical experience in both general and critical care is required.
    Current State of Wisconsin License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) is required
  • BLS -AHA
  • ACLS

Education:
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program is required.
 
Certifications & Licenses:
  • ACLS – AHA
  • BLS
  • RCP License (Respiratory Care Practitioner)
