Pay range: $18 – $20/hr. on W2

Pay range: $18 – $20/hr. on W2
Schedule:
- 40 hours.
- 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
- Receive, log, and accurately label incoming specimens.
- Transport specimens and supplies between pathology, histology, and other clinical areas.
- Assist with accessioning by verifying patient information and ensuring proper documentation.
- Prepare specimen containers, cassettes, and required materials for grossing.
- Dispose of biohazard waste and maintain cleanliness of the grossing and histology work areas.
- Restock reagents, slides, cassettes, fixatives, and consumables to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
- Assist technologists and pathologist assistants with routine pre-analytical tasks as assigned.
- Clean and disinfect instruments, countertops, and equipment according to safety protocols.
- Monitor supply levels and report shortages to supervisors.
- Follow all safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements (CAP, OSHA, hospital policies).
- Support general laboratory operations to promote efficiency and timely specimen processing.
Requirements:
- Must be a high school student with permission to work or a high school graduate enrolled in/completed a degree or vocational program (preferably pursuing college degree in a science field).
- Prior experience in a laboratory or hospital setting preferred.
- Hands dexterity to work with small instruments and various sizes of medical and medical-related equipment.
- Good communication skills and diplomacy to interact and communicate effectively.
- Able to stay organized and ability to work independently once given direction.
