- We are hiring a High Throughput Purification Specialist on a contract basis for our Boston R&D Hub in Cambridge, MA.
- This role will support a team of medicinal chemists working on pep Product drug discovery programs.
- Primary responsibilities include the purification, quality control, and registration of pep Product libraries and singleton samples prior to submission for biological assays.
- The ideal candidate will have experience with high throughput, mass directed preparative Waters HPLC systems and analytical UPLC instrumentation in an industrial environment.
- Familiarity with Client instruments and Biotage Extrahera is considered a plus.
- Work closely with medicinal chemists to manage sample queues and prioritize purification requests across multiple projects.
- Execute purification of diverse pep Product libraries using optimized conditions to deliver high purity products with rapid turnaround times.
- Maintain chromatograms, spectra, purity analyses, and associated records throughout the workflow—from crude materials to final samples—for ELN documentation.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of the high throughput purification platform, as well as open access preparative and analytical UPLC instruments used by medicinal chemists.
- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to good laboratory practices.
- B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong understanding of fundamental principles of chromatography and mass spectrometry.
- 1–2 years of experience with high throughput purification workflows and automated purification systems supporting drug discovery or medicinal chemistry efforts.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and analytical issues.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
