Pay Rate: $55/hr. on W2.
 
Job Description:
  • We are currently seeking an experienced Hospital Lab Manager to oversee Blood Bank operations. This is a leadership-level role responsible for managing daily operations, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance, and delivering contractual lab services in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • This position is ideal for a proactive, results-driven leader who is passionate about laboratory operations and hospital partnerships.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage all aspects of hospital laboratory services, especially within the Blood Bank.
  • Ensure quality control procedures and compliance with all regulatory and contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with the Professional Lab Services (PLS) team and national leadership to implement and manage lab service integration plans.
  • Supervise and support laboratory staff and supervisors, ensuring high-quality performance and professional development.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the hospital, PLS teams, and functional departments (procurement, logistics, etc.).
  • Provide monthly and quarterly performance reports (quality, productivity, equipment, and process improvements).
  • Coordinate start-up and ongoing management of lab service contracts, including reference testing and after-hours coverage.
  • Support inventory management, supply chain coordination, and laboratory budgeting in collaboration with the Lab Director.
  • Manage project plans, implementation timelines, team resources, and ensure timely delivery of services and results.
  • Monitor key metrics, control costs, and support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Six Sigma/Change Management).
 
Required Experience: 5+ years of managerial experience in a clinical or hospital laboratory setting.
Preferred: Prior hospital lab leadership experience, especially in Blood Bank or Transfusion Services.
 
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong background in clinical laboratory operations and testing.
  • Experience with lab consolidation projects and project management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and client relationship management skills.
  • Strong organizational and data analysis skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, Change Management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
 
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
  • Master’s Degree (Preferred)
