Job Title: Food Technologist | Research Technician
Location: Glenview, IL 60025
Duration: 10 months+

Shift: 1st Shift 8:00 am or 8:30 am Start time (CST)
Pay rate: $30 - $35/hr. on W2
 
Job Description:
Must-haves:
  • Strong work ethic and enthusiasm
  • Local candidate (relocation not offered)
  • Experience with flavors and sweeteners preferred
 
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Aid in the development of new ingredient technology for sugar reduction and sodium reduction in company food and beverage products
  • Conduct bench top and pilot plant trials to optimize formulation and processes
  • Perform functional evaluations of new ingredients and record results
  • Perform sensory testing of prototypes and coordinate expert panel sensory tests
  • Perform shelf-life and stability evaluations
  • Coordinate team evaluations on a regular basis
  • Submit prototypes for analytical testing and compile results
  • Communicate with suppliers for ingredient requests and information
  • Write progress reports
  • Maintain and organize laboratory and supplies
  • Ensure laboratory safety
 
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Food Science or similar field and minimum 2 years’ experience
  • Ability to provide sensory descriptions of foods and beverages
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good record-keeping and organization
  • Ability to lift at least 40 pounds
