Sterile Processing Technician

Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician
Job Location: Hackensack, NJ, 07601
Job Duration: 1-2 Months (possibility of extension)
Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Pay Range: $30 - $34/hr. on w2

Job Summary:

• Cleans, processes, and sterilizes surgical instruments, patient care equipment, and reusable items.
• Assembles case carts using surgeon preference lists.
• Operates steam, ETO, Sterrad, and Steris sterilizers and performs required quality assurance checks.
• Uses computerized count sheets and documents sterilization processes accurately.
• Lifts minimum 50 lbs., pushes/pulls minimum 60 lbs., stands for entire shift.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent – Required.

Licensure & Certifications:

• National Certification: CRCST or CBSPDT – Required.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Completion of a Central Processing Course or 1 year of instrument processing experience – Required
• Experience in decontamination, surgical set assembly, case cart building, and sterilization (steam and Sterrad) – Required.

Schedule Notes:

• Must be able to work every other weekend.
• Must work 3 of 6 holidays.
• Must be available for rotating schedules/shifts.
