Position Overview
The Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) organization focuses on manufacturing equipment across multiple areas including design, development, industrialization, procurement, deployment, and startup.
This role sits within the Fiber Capital Programs (FCP) department under AMT and focuses on capital equipment acquisition and delivery logistics.
The Electrical Technician will support the Acquisition Team in managing and coordinating the procurement and delivery of equipment that will later be installed by the FCP deployment teams.
Key Responsibilities

Support electrical aspects of equipment acquisition for manufacturing equipment upgrades and brownfield/greenfield installations.

Define equipment specifications and requirements including configuration and quantity.

Provide technical support to Global Supply Management and equipment vendors throughout the bidding and procurement process, including:

Vendor identification
-
RFQ preparation
-
Vendor evaluation and selection
-

Assist with resolving technical issues during equipment build and procurement phases.

Support team leaders in developing equipment delivery timelines and integrating them into project schedules.

Participate in deployment planning activities with project teams.

Collaborate with other AMT teams including:

Capital Deployment Project Teams
-
Development Teams
-
Technology Platforms
-
Cable Technology groups
-

Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for equipment prior to delivery.
Travel Requirements
-
Up to 20% travel to vendor locations and project sites (primarily domestic, East Coast).

Primary work location will be the Wilmington, NC office.
Work Schedule
-
40+ hours per week (MondayFriday)
-
Work hours may be adjusted based on project lifecycle needs
-
Weekend work and overtime may be required depending on project timelines
Required Education
-
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, or Associate Degree with 1+ year of experience in capital projects or equipment acquisition
Required Experience
-
1+ years of experience working on capital projects
-
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and external vendors
-
Familiarity with capital equipment purchasing processes
Required Technical Skills
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Ability to navigate engineering software including:
-
AutoCAD
-
Vault
-
Inventor
-

Ability to understand equipment specifications and identify alternative sourcing options

Basic knowledge of electrical troubleshooting tools
