Duration: 3 Months+ with Possibility of Extension
Shift/Time Zone: Mon - Fri 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. (1 hour lunch break)
Job Description:

As a Specimen Processing Technician I (SPT I), you'll play a key role in supporting the Specimen Processing Department by efficiently handling specimens in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment. Your work will ensure specimens are processed accurately and on time, meeting high-quality standards. This role requires strong data entry skills (up to 6,000 keystrokes per hour) and the ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

Process specimens accurately and meet productivity and quality standards.

Perform data entry with a speed of 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.

Handle various specimen tasks including A-station, presorting, centrifugation, imaging, and aliquoting.

Ensure specimens are picked up and delivered to the laboratory in a timely manner.

Maintain knowledge of regulatory compliance for test orders and specimen handling.

Keep your workspace clean and organized, adhering to safety standards.

Adapt to changes in workflows and regulations as needed.

Communicate clearly with team members and other staff to ensure smooth operations.

Follow all safety procedures and biohazard protocols.

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Basic computer skills, especially for data entry.

Preferred: Experience in laboratory or production environments.

Experience with medical terminology or laboratory testing is a plus.
