Job Title: Specimen Technician
Location: Fayetteville, AR
Duration: 3 Months+ with Possibility of Extension

Shift/Time Zone: Mon - Fri 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. (1 hour lunch break)
       
Job Description:      

  • As a Specimen Processing Technician I (SPT I), you'll play a key role in supporting the Specimen Processing Department by efficiently handling specimens in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment. Your work will ensure specimens are processed accurately and on time, meeting high-quality standards. This role requires strong data entry skills (up to 6,000 keystrokes per hour) and the ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Process specimens accurately and meet productivity and quality standards.

  • Perform data entry with a speed of 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.

  • Handle various specimen tasks including A-station, presorting, centrifugation, imaging, and aliquoting.

  • Ensure specimens are picked up and delivered to the laboratory in a timely manner.

  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory compliance for test orders and specimen handling.

  • Keep your workspace clean and organized, adhering to safety standards.

  • Adapt to changes in workflows and regulations as needed.

  • Communicate clearly with team members and other staff to ensure smooth operations.

  • Follow all safety procedures and biohazard protocols.

  • Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Basic computer skills, especially for data entry.

  • Preferred: Experience in laboratory or production environments.

  • Experience with medical terminology or laboratory testing is a plus.

  • Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

  • Ability to work in a biohazard environment and follow safety procedures.
