Shift/Time Zone: Monday - Thursday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM 

Job Description

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the company to patients who visit for routine care or life-defining health decisions. The PSR II is responsible for drawing quality blood samples from patients and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established practices and procedures.

This role involves direct patient contact and requires creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence by clearly explaining procedures and performing blood draws in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors while emphasizing process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.

Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor’s office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

  • Maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming environment.

  • Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing in accordance with established practices and procedures.

  • Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials and signature post-venipuncture to confirm specimens were labeled in the patient’s presence and that identifying information is correct.

  • Maintain required records and documentation accurately.

  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the general public.




Job Requirements

  • Ability to provide high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as staffing needs require.

  • Commitment to all company policies and procedures, including dress code, employee health and safety, and Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles.

  • Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise sound judgment.

  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record (if applicable).

  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations, including Patient Service Centers and in-office phlebotomy sites, often with minimal notice.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

  • Demonstrated superior customer focus; strong communication skills with patients, peers, and supervisors; ability to adapt to change; and understanding of company operations.




Training

Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.




Required Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).




Work Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
