Warehouse Specialist

Job Title: Warehouse Specialist
Location: Hayward, CA 94541
Duration: 6+ Months (Possible Extension)

Pay Rate: $25/hr. (W2)
Shift: Onsite
 
Summary:
Supports warehouse operations by receiving, storing, picking, packing, staging, and shipping materials in compliance with Lonza SOPs, GMPs, and safety regulations. Provides leadership in the absence of supervisors and assists in process efficiency.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Receive inbound freight and process outbound shipments, ensuring proper labeling.
• Prepare parcels and kit/stage work orders according to production schedules.
• Replenish stock and maintain warehouse organization.
• Use pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment (PIT certification preferred).
• Perform cycle counts, physical inventory, and spot-checks.
• Work with Quality team to ensure proper staging and labeling of materials for sampling.
• Transfer materials to production lines and return “return-to-stock” items.
• Complete shipping documentation (BOL, packing list, barcodes).
• Maintain material handling equipment and report issues.
• Comply with safety policies, SOPs, and GMPs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 
Qualifications:

• High school diploma required; AA preferred.
• 3–5 years of warehouse or technical office experience.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with warehouse management systems and PC environments.
• Ability to lift 10–50 lbs and operate forklifts/material handling equipment.
• Able to work overtime and independently.

 
Physical Requirements:

• Reaching, lifting, fingering, talking, occasional walking/standing.
• Visual acuity for detailed work and general observations.
• Exposure to moving machinery, vehicles, high heat, chemicals, and elevated areas.
