Shift: Mon – Fri 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Position Overview

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization, providing direct patient care during routine health services and critical, life-defining health decisions. The PSR II is responsible for performing high-quality blood draws and specimen processing while adhering to established practices, procedures, and confidentiality standards. This role emphasizes patient trust, safety, accuracy, and professionalism.

Assignments may include a doctor’s office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.




Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform daily work activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.

  • Confidently perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing in accordance with established procedures.

  • Verify patient identity and demographic information, including patient initials and signature post-venipuncture to confirm specimen labeling accuracy.

  • Prepare, label, and process specimens for laboratory testing.

  • Maintain required records and documentation with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and organizational commitment.

  • Promote a positive image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.




Required Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills with patients, peers, and supervisors.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

  • Demonstrated adaptability, professionalism, and sound judgment.




Work Schedule & Flexibility

  • Flexible availability required, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime.

  • Travel and flexible hours required to support multiple Patient Service Center and in-office phlebotomy locations, sometimes with minimal notice.

  • Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.




Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED.

  • Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic) preferred.

  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (REQUIRED in California, Nevada, and Washington).




Experience Requirements

  • 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
